I won’t lie. Looking at the stats on my site depresses me. I’m not depressed because I don’t have many followers, or I’m lacking clicks or views. I’m depressed because I see how much time has elapsed since I’ve actually updated this page.
In the intervening months, I’ve published several short stories, helped to edit a great anthology, and edited a brand new speculative fiction humor magazine. However, I haven’t been transparent about much of that at all on my social media or web pages.
I guess that it’s hard for me to sit down and just do it. There seems to always be something more pressing, and I guess, for me, there is. The truth is, we make time for what’s important to us. My web presence fades in and out of importance in my life. I realize that to have much presence as an indie author, it’s important to actually have SOME presence.
I don’t make New Year’s resolutions, but if I did, I guess mine would be several weeks late. So, here it is, for anyone out there in cyber space reading this: I resolve to be more present on the web. Sort of. As much as my time and other priorities allow. 🙂
Thanks for reading.
